About me

You know that awkward feeling when you have to somehow introduce yourself to total strangers? The way you don’t want to sound too smug, while at the same time not selling yourself short? Of course you do, most of us have faced this at least once in our lives. This is one of those situations, so I’ll try to make the best of it.

My name is Mike Erkulev, but I’m more well known under my nickname RS_Guardian.

I have a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, but instead of becoming a code monkey I’ve decided to continue learning on my own. Since then I have studied various subjects, including philosophy, psychology, behavioral biology, neuroscience, eastern religion, game theory, economics, finance, cryptology, and others.

One thing that has always intrigued me is why people act the way they act. What drives them towards their goals? What are the causes of depression and anxiety? How can it be fixed? As well as questions about what the future holds for humanity. I am currently writing a book that attempts to answer all of those questions, as well as others. I expect to finish it sometime this fall. At some point I’ll add a more detailed description of what it is about, when I’m not too busy writing it.

In this blog I am going to write my thought on subjects that are not directly connected to the book, and maybe additions to it once it’s out. Probably not too often, but hopefully about interesting stuff. I adore intellectual conversations on almost any subject, so if you’re interested in talking, don’t hesitate to hit me up on Twitter.

In case you’re wondering, my avatar is from a wonderful game called Cloud Chamber, which has now been removed from Steam, so you can’t check it out. It was about particle physics, mystery, and using social communication to uncover the story.
